I had a 96 Swede in 6.5x55 that I had traded for over a year ago with a pristine bore, all matching #'s and a beautiful French walnut stock that the previous owner had lightly sanded and refinished with a hand rubbed tru oil finish. He had also drilled and tapped the action and added Weaver bases and a set of HI Burris Zee rings. I put on a Sig 3x12x40 Buckmaster scope with BDC reticle, as I had a used one laying on the bench. This scope does a suprisingly good job for an economic scope. I barely had clearance on the bolt handle, I will have to forge it down some more to suit my taste. Anyway, took about 10 shots to zero at 25 and 100, due to clicking the scope the wrong way. I was shooting a Sierra 120 sp with IMR 3031 behind it, a deer hunting load that has proven accurate and a good killing load for over 35 years for me. It did not disappoint. With the barrel heating up, point of impact did not change and if anything got tighter. I shot 3 3 shot groups and they were center to center, .457, .450 and .422. This round and rifle is about my all time favorite round. No bedding, military trigger polished and still 2 stage at about #4, 2 piece stock and barrel bands and all and still shoots like that. Recoil ain't bad either, even with a steel buttplate. Just thought I would share.
