Pistol powder question: Unique & Bullseye

Out of 6 1/2'' barrel, a 44 Magnum load with a 240 grain bullet and 24 grains of 2400 powder will leave some powder on the ground.
Mr. Elmer Keith's favorite load was a 240 grain bullet and 22 grains of 2400. This was (I believe) also the standard factory load until the gun manufacturers got nervous about the top strap of their revolvers getting flame cut above the cylinder/barrel gap.
For some very good reading, try "Hell, I Was There!" by Elmer Keith.

Get you a Lee Factory Crimp Die it solves a lot of problems with semi autos.

You don’t need a Lee Factory Crimp Die to load accurate .45ACP and 9mm ammo. Just take the time to properly set the crimp die when working up a load and go. I use Redding Competition Dies for all my Pistol ammo and the crimp die with those sets works just fine.

Yep, unique and 2400 do leave a lot of powder residue in the barrel. I shoot these in my 44 revolvers. I use a separate Lee crimp die, for me it seems to speed up the reloading process.
