Pistol Brass...?

I also don't load hot for my target rounds... I just seem to get 2-3 strange flyers everytime... Maybe it's just me losing concentration.... It's easy to do in this heat in central Texas , thank goodness it's almost over for a small amount of time...

I don't have any etching on my breech face etc and have put at least 5000 rounds through it , almost all reloads and all exactly the same... Going from single stage RCBS to last December a Dillon 550c and the quality seems to be the same I had the flyers before the Dillon etc...

Load is for 9mm out of a G19...
124gr Berry's RN
4.2gr of Win231
Coal of 1.150 or close...
S&B , Winchester , CCI or even federal primers...

Over a crono the numbers are good and flying right under 1000 fps....

These are nothing but paper punchers at between 15-25 yards out of my carry gun... Other than the strange flyers Maybe 4-6 out of 60 rounds I have never had a problem... I will normally cut the bullseye out of the target so they aren't horrible... Like I said maybe it's just me losing concentration or going to dang fast....

Your flyers are the plated bullets. They’re fine for practice, training, and a lot of run and gun work but not good for serious target work.

Another powder to look at, Durn woman your killing me. My friend just bought a Ransom rest with the windage tray so we should be able to test better, just need to get the speed right.

If you really want to go into the rabbit hole of Bullseye pistol loading and powder selection...but I suggest that you don’t....

For 9mm people are reporting good luck with Zero 115 JHP (the conical ones) . For 9 I wouldn’t use Bullseye...unless I was loading 147 SWC lead... rather, I’d opt for WSF or CFE pistol or BE-86. Maybe Unique if I had some.

When I first started loading I thought probably as many do , a bullet is a bullet.... But years later I know in rifle this is definitely not true so it would be safe to say pistol also... I just called a friend who has the 10th version of the hornady manual and it looks like the HAP bullets are to be loaded like the xtp.... So as soon as I can pick up 500 I will work up a good new load for them and definitely give them a try....

Interesting article on case longevity:
http://massreloading.com/loading45ACP.html

I basically reload until I lose them. I have about 2K cases in circulation of 9mm, 40SW, and 45ACP. About 500-700 of 10mm. I tend to load a big batch only a few times a year, a 30cal or 50cal ammo can full. So my strategy is a lot of cases in circulation so I only get 2-4 reloads per year.

The only auto cases I really work towards 100% recovery is 10mm and I load those hot. I've got 10+ loadings on them with no issues.

I've shot quite a few Zero Bullets (9mm, 124gr FMJ and 115gr JHP) and they have worked really well for me. (I'm just punching paper and pinging steel.) I recently tried some 115gr Bayou Bullets and I like them a lot as well. (I'm waiting on delivery of a bunch of those so I can really get some loaded up.)

In all cases I'm using HP-38.

The most accurate powder bullet combo I have found is Zero 115 JHPs and Power Pistol. Precision Delta is also a good option. I wouldnt use Montana Gold if you gave them to me. No, really.

My Chambers Custom PPC pistol will shoot under an inch at 50 yards with that combo.
