Because the grass is too high, I am "grounded" for woodchuck hunting. So instead my son and I took the 25 caliber Marauder to a local dairy farm. We set up 40 yards from one silo, and 30 from another. Lawn chairs, apple tree for shade and "camo", and the Ultimate Tripod for a rest. Over only an hour we took 4 pigeons and 13 starlings. The 25 cal hits hard. Starlings just tip over in a puff of feathers. Pigeons drop like...well...you know. The Weaver 4-14X grandslam with the two dot holdover is perfect as long as we stay in the higher end of the charge. Hold under at 30 yards, between cross-x and first dot at 40 and use first dot at 50 yards, while set at 14X. The tripod made for a great rest with elevation and windage easily dialed in. We stacked four starlings atop each other off a ladder point. Pop one and another would hop up to see the one "sunbathing" in the gutter! I think I have a new past-time. best part is the hand pump works great. Just tell the 17 year old..."hey, it is low on air, but you are shooting next"
