Piedmont IBS 600, Match 1, March 13 Results

It was a good day for a March match. Overcast and in the mid-50’s. Winds were light. Scotty Powell won 2-Gun and LG Overall. Hunter Hall won HG Overall. Hunter shot a 0.533 inch group on one of his targets and a 4 target 1.346 inch agg. If one bullet had not gotten out a little on his 3rd target the rascal would have beaten his dad’s HG agg record. Sorry, I can’t help but brag on him. Great shooting guys!

Looks like some really great shooting there. This year a trip to Piedmont is definitely on my calendar.

I have been shooting IBS 600 yard since it started 17 years ago, I figure thats over 1000 targets in competition. My son goes and shoots a target smaller than I ever have in his 2nd year of shooting 600 yards. I think I was more tickled than he was!

I almost forgot to mention, Steven Irvine in his first ever 600 yard match, and on his first target, nailed a 0.742 group! Several of us were joking that Steven should have told us all after that target “there is nothing to this guys, I am going to go play something challenging now like golf or something”.

Thanks Sam for the kind words but that target was the result of a lot of help from very knowledgeable and friendly shooters willing to help a rookie . Not to mention I probably used up all my luck for the rest of the year lol . It was a real pleasure to have the opportunity to shoot with such a great group of people !! Thanks to everybody for the help ! I will be there next month .
