Pieces of brass per barrel??

Curious to know how many pieces of brass others use per barrel on 6br/Dasher/BRX/BRA.
In the past I have ran 200 pieces of Lapua 6br brass for straight BR and Dasher, I don't anneal but keep the brass on same rotation/firing.. Even after 15+ firings on BR brass and 12+ firings on Dasher brass it still has tight primer pockets, as it hardens I adjust shoulder bump .001 at most.
It seems I could get away with rotating 100 or 150 pieces possibly??

Cheers Rushty

For the previous barrels in my 6 BRX, I used 200 pieces. For this barrel, I am using 150 pieces. It should be enough, but I get nervous if I shoot two matches back to back and then don't have enough loaded rounds ready to go. I will go back to 200 for my next barrel.

I anneal after every firing. My primer pockets get loose after about 15 firings.

What's the barrel have to do with it? Its how often you want to reload, and how many you want loaded when you head home form a match.

Barrel has nothing to do with it really, just a cost and brass longevity thing. When I set up a new Barrel I like to buy enough brass, projies, powder and primers to last out the barrel, in the BR class about 2500 rnds worth. So with the brass I was thinking of cutting cost by using 100 pieces instead of 200 which means I’ll be loading the 100 pieces twice as much and wasn’t sure if it would stand up to it without annealing. So I was asking how many pieces of brass others use for the life of there BR barrels.

Cheers Rushty

When I put on a new barrel, I fireform BR new brass to BRX. This is a process I learned from an older, more experienced (and very successful) F class shooter. In the past, the brass life would be about expired at the same time as the barrel. With more frequent and more precise annealing, the brass life can be extended. That is the reason I changed from 200 cases to 150.
When I read Rushty's original post, I knew exactly where he was coming from. He will definitely need to anneal if he uses only 100 cases. I now anneal after every firing.
