Phone Text Messages Regarding CCW — Beware

This morning I received a text about today being the last day to apply for a CCW permit. Apparently, this is a nationwide scam as the article below references California while my phone has never been to the west coast.

Got my first cell phone a couple of weeks ago. Had an Onstar phone in my truck, very easy to use. My wife and I were watching our Grand daughter ice skating today. Went to the truck to warm up. Asked my wife how do I use this phone. Pulled it out and there were a ton of messages on it. I never used it, except to see if it worked. My wife attempted to use with the truck connection. A few minutes later after some non phone appropriate language, she put it back in the console. She is a computer inventory control expert.

Aren't you allowed to open carry in Wyoming?

Yes. CCW is not required for in-state CC either.

"Wyoming Residents who can legally own a firearm can carry it concealed on their person in a vehicle without any type of permit/license. ... This is the Permitless Carry Law passed recently but this law only applies to residents of Wyoming. Open Carry (Without a Valid Permit/License) Open Carry is legal."

I'm in CA, SF Bay Area. No way in hell I can get a CCW. CA is a "may issue" state, but the greater Bay Area counties are generally issuing only for friends of, and political contributors to, the respective Sheriffs. Something like 170 permits are active in Alameda County; population in the county is 1.67 million.

I lived and worked in the Bay Area for 18 plus years. All my work was as a Federal LEO and I could NOT get a CCW. Then Bush fixed everything for us. I finally convinced the wife that there was life outside the golden trough and we moved to Florida. I worked for the last 6 years and then retired in 2010 or so. Never looked back. CA suks so big at upholding the Constitution that if felt like being reborn.

Best place for my cell phone is on my dresser, OFF, until I want to use it. ;)
I don't have one (everyone else in the family does) I see no need to be connected to the world 24/7. Home phone Call I'll answer it if I'm home ....If not home leave a message, I'll get back to you. All that plus I get PEACE AND QUIET, and no contracts and I didn't pay $1500 for a mobile computer that gets lost or breaks all the time. And this for the TIN HAT group AINT NOBODY GONNA SEND A SATELLITE GUIDED ANYTHING UP MY BUTT.....Rant off.
