I was told today that in 2 weeks the Peterson Cartridge Company will be selling 6 Dasher brass to the public. It will be very nice to see how it stands up to the Lapua standard. Looking forward to purchasing some to try. One good thing is that they are making it with SRP and .059" flash holes. The same as Lapua. I'm told that the neck thickness is like .014", so there's a possibility of neck turning to fit some chambers. I don't have a problem with turning either way. Looking forward to seeing the Peterson performance test's to come out soon!

I have 100 Alpha 6 Dashers in service but through only two cycles. I had DJ turn it slightly and have simply ignored the fact that it has a larger flash hole. I dropped my powder charge a little from Lapua and stayed with CCI450 primers. There is a very slight ejector mark on the headstamp but no indentation. Measuring for case head expansion with a blade mic also says no excess pressure and those primer pockets are still extremely tight.
Also, I have 100 pieces of Peterson 6BR brass that is on second cycle. That brass exhibits the same little smudge on the headstamp but, again, no other signs make me think I am over-pressure. I Really think both are of high quality (consistent measurements and weights) but I also think both are a bit softer than Lapua.

I am afraid everyone who has this view will also find Peterson 6 Dasher brass the same.
My point is 6 Dasher from Lapua brass is and always has been our "gold standard" and taking either Peterson or Alpha brass and treating as we always have Lapua will not give satisfactory results.

The influx of “real” 6mm Dasher brass certainly intrigues me, but I have so much Lapua on hand with so much life left in them, that I can’t justify a buy right now.
I guess I’ll just sit back and watch everyone work out the bugs and when the time come to buy, it will be perfect .

Time and testing will see. You never know until the smoke clears and extensive testing has been preformed.

MY testing is showing great results and my post was NOT intended to bash either Alpha or Peterson.
Not if you understand my point. Alpha has a larger flash hole and less volume. It cannot be (doesn't need to be) loaded with the same charges we use in Lapua. Peterson is somewhat softer, IMO from shooting the Peterson 6BR brass, and has a bit less volume available. I found (my experience only) that Peterson brass is much closer to Lapua 6BR brass as far as my max loads.
All this said, I do believe both are excellent products and we are lucky to have them. Both, taken at their own merits, will shoot as well and should last as long as Lapua.
I still shoot Lapua in my 6BR and 6 Dasher for long range BR because I have data that works and don't want to change. I developed loads for both Peterson 6BR and Alpha 6 Dasher for other rifles used for other type matches (but where accuracy is the end game).
I have been using Lapua in both 6br and 6Dasher, the brass is great with many firings.
Just on principle I won’t use Alpha for anything, their 6xc brass was responsible for a friends gun having a major failure, whatever the properties of the brass caused serious damage. The user is a national level high power shooter and used known safe load. Alpha walked away from any responsibilities ( sorry to divert the subject)

The Lapua .059" flash hole has been gone a long time. Most likely since the switch from the gold paper to blue plastic box. Unless my pin gauges and mics are wrong the flash hole on the last 10 or so blue box lots I've bought is now somewhere around .062". I've tried numerous times over the years to notify this site and Sinclair Inter to correct their info pages and product descriptions but have got nowhere. Figure their pin gauge sets aren't small enough to measure for themselves or they're in cahoots with the fake news folks.
I assumed Peterson Dasher brass would come in their "Select" brass(weight sorted at factory to within a grain)
I'm not seeing that option at Grafs or on their website for Dasher yet

I tried to order from Grafs but they only had the bulk (500) available. I got on the waitlist and was notified on 9-19 that the 50 round quantity was available so I order 100 pieces. My confirmation says they are 14 days behind on shipping.
If it ever arrives I am going to compare it to my Alpha 6 Dasher brass to see how they both shape up against my Hydro-formed Lapua.
