Permalyn finish on laminate stock

Has anyone used Permalyn with success on a laminate stock? Any tips or a how-to? I have read lots and have finished walnut with oil finishes, but never a laminate.

Thanks,
Joe

I just finished a laminate stock with teak oil. About 12 coats total. I used 320 grit between the first 2 or 3 coats, then switched to 0000 steel wool for a few coats, and then pumice stone between the last 6 coats. After the very last coat I rubbed out with rottenstone. Slides like glass in the bags, but I'm still gonna use stock tape on it.

FYI, steel wool does a nice job, but leaves behind lots of wool dust- I use a magnet to get it out of the hard to reach places after wiping down, but I would use something different in the future.

Several supply houses carry the stuff. I use the Sealer on the Traditional ML stocks I finish.
Excellant product.
The actual finish is good also, but in my prefered field many products are used

Just use the Permalyn as per the instructions. As for riding the bags, Smooth is key. Don't be afraid to sue a lot of coats and sand with 400 wet with the finish if things start to get "bumpy".
