Shot my first Benchrest match of the year down at Brocks Gap in Hoover Alabama.
The morning conditions was very favorable for the first 2 targets then the wind began to blow for the next 2 and continued to worsen as the day went on.
I shot my Bat MB in LG chambered in a 6 BR AI shooting Barts Gungnir. The light was just right and I could follow my bullet trace into the paper and as I saw each impact I’d hold just enough to try and stay centered up for the 50 score on each target.
By the 3rd target the wind got up and holding was tough and I couldn’t keep them centered but still squeaked out a 50 score for target 3 then the wind settled just enough to hold center for target 4 and another 50 score.
10 years of matches there and I shot the very first 200 score with 5x’s. A new club record and I’m hoping one that’ll never get broken.
These were shot at 525 yards.
