Pentax Scope

I've been looking at Pentax scopes recently b/c someone on here had suggested them to someone else in another thread. Does anyone have any experience with them? My main varmint rifle has a Leupold 6.5-20, all I really care for the Pentax is that it holds a zero and it doesn't fall apart when I take it out of the box (doesn't have to rival the Leupold for clarity). I'll either be mounting it on a 243 or 308, I figure for $200 any scope is worth a try right?

Bought a couple Pentax scopes from Sportsman's Supply. One was a mess a holding zero. Sent it back and they replaced it. I sold it cheap.

Kept the other on a 6mm carbine I rarely use. It holds zero and I will not change it much. Poor field of view and deminishing eye relief. Lots of flare also. Would not recommend them unless you wanted and expected a cheap quality scope.

I have/had a few Pentax LS30's, 8-32x50. Only sold a couple to replace them with the Sightron 10-50's when they came out. I like the Pentax a lot. Trying the box tests, they've returned to zero every time. Optics are clear. I've read they are supposedly made by Burris for Pentax (essentially = the Burris Black Diamonds). Not sure which model you're speaking of, mine were quite a bit over $200.

I just bought a 4-16 Gameseeker 30 for my 7mm-08---I had another Game seeker when the firts cam out a few years ago and it came out of the box with a locked up turret.. I talked to the GM @ Pentax and he assured me I would be happy with this one. I save about $30 and got free shipping buying it on amazon.

I will let you know how mine does-- I figure for $150 I can put it on a 22 or someting and up grade

I wanted a Leupold but did not have the cash right now-- so i figured this one would get me started..

I also bought a Weaver Nitrex TR one for a .243 it is a 6-20 x 50 I paided $189 for it-- well worth the money--Still looking for a matte one in 4-16
