Thanks for the match report James. Looks like all customs and unlimited rifles that day. Funny how some ranges have a different mix of guns on the line. We've been having a good number of factory and modified rifles down here, along with the custom and unlimited. The good thing is, UBR has a class for most anyone to get into the game and a simple set of rules. Keep up the good work!

Mike, we have always had a hard time getting factory or modified guys to come and shoot for some reason. I'd like to see 10 or so of them to show up. I'm working on getting the word out locally here.

Just keep pushing. I think area has something to do with it as well as promotion but I know you'll do well with it. It just takes a little time. We all know BR isn't for everyone but they don't know if it's their game or not until they try it. I'm nobody...I just like seeing a good thing and good people, do well. I think UBR and the people involved are just that.

Mike,
We have 3 matches a month, UBR, Groundhog 100-400 yard and 400 Yard Deer hunter match. None of the matches get factory or modified guns. In my area we are blessed with the fact there are no shortage of places to shoot. Promotion is something that needs to be done no doubt, the lack of awareness is what I hear the most.

I use to frequent a hunting forum where most of them think of BR as silly. I tossed the idea of a "tactical match", shot on score targets, from a rest or from a bi-pod, to them though, and all of a sudden, there were several that liked that idea. Go figure!

You guys are lucky. Here in hellinois we have nothing close to shoot for benchrest. We do have some decent clubs to shoot at. I usually shoot at a body of mines place. We built a nice bench and can shoot out to 200 yards.

Lots of people travel great distances several times a year to shoot registered matches....especially out west.

Yeah we talked about moving the start times to 10am to help shooters who have to travel and not leave at 4am to get there. One thing about Anderson Creek Sportsman Club is they are a shooter friendly environment and they do a good job of listening to the shooters because they know without the support of them there would not be any matches.

They also run a great 100-400 yard groundhog match throughout the year with nice cash payouts...
