PCPs in lead free zones

Where do you shoot? Where do you hunt? Are indoor ranges your only options? Do outdoor ranges allow their use? Curious

I can’t answer your questions but lead free pellets are available if you have to go that route.
I’ve never shot lead free so I can’t vouch for the accuracy.

Are they Zinc? Over on castboolits there are some tinkering with casting zinc instead of lead.

Some of the non toxic shot cost is due to the migratory waterfowl lead ban. Buy it or don't hunt, why the anti-hunt crowd push the "lead safety" without any real science behind it.

Here in CA, only hunting is lead free. A couple ranges are lead free even for clays because they're situated on or near wet lands. But for everything else lead is fine.

Migratory waterfowl and hunting on Federal wildlife sanctuaries has been non-toxic shot only for decades. Its pretty hard to refute the damage lead can do when ingested by birds, especially dabbling feeders. I'm ok with it. We hunt with non toxic bullets now and see no demonstrable bad effects because of it. Just our choice.

Aside from hunting, I'd guess it's up to individual range/property owner as to their policy. While I am aware of a couple of ranges that have gone lead-free (or at least are trying to), I am not aware of any kind of (either local or state) governmental blanket restriction on lead in shooting sports.
