Partial neck sizing with a regular neck bushing?

This is very easy to do with the Redding type S dies, and possible with a Wilson if you were to shim the top cap to allow the bushing to stay away from the case when fully into the die body.

Sorry but my question was is it OK to partial neck size with a straight bushing. The Wilsons are designed to partial neck size ONLY and are therefore tapered bushings. I'm wondering about any issues doing it without the taper.

Thanks

Yes. Wilson bushings are, for all intents and purposes, interchangeable with Redding bushings. The taper in Wilso bushings is so slight its almost negligible - something like 0.0005" smaller at one end than the other, mainly (if I understand correctly) so shooters could flip the bushing over and gain a fuzz more neck tension if needed without having to go to a different bushing size. AFAIK it doesn't really have anything to do with whether you are partial or full neck sizing.

Fitter,
I guess as long as you didn't run it into the shoulder I can't see what it would hurt. Who sells straight bushings? and why would you want one?
Wayne.

My Forster bushings seem straight. Aren't they?
