Pappas j&j slide question

Just a update I messaged Ms pappas. She got back to me today and told me it definitely needs the washer. Not sure why. But I am gonna try a regular oring first and see what happens before I spend $20 for the blue one she has.

As you said , you’re new. Unless you plan on learning every lesson the hard way, put the slide in a drawer and practice your skills, you’re wasting time and ammo.

The first ones I saw were called a JJ slide made by JJ Jones, probably 20 years ago.
The problem I had with them was day to day consistency.
I could get the gun shooting good with one, then take it to a match the next day and it would be crap. I’d end up taking it off and returning to the old tuner setting before firing a record shot.
I’ve done that at least 10 times or more. I finally got rid of it.
Edited to add that I do know of very good shooters that use them and win with them also, so I’m not saying they are junk, I just could never get them to shoot day to day consistent.

Today I tested a PQP short tube (bloop) on a standard Harrel on my 40XR.
Checking past tuner settings, got it grouping small then put on the tube, surprisingly I didn’t have to change the tuner setting. It comes with a slide but I haven’t got there. Yet.

5 shot groups @ 50



First tests show promise.
