Several people claim to have had good luck with plain glue ins shooting WSM's and the like. I tend to over build, so add screws to a good glue in and it should be ok for at least that range of cartridge. The stock design and fill could well be the limiting factor, particularly at the tang area, and that can be substantially reinforced prior to glueing it all up. If you think about it, the screws will help maintain a good bond for the glue by preventing it from loosening in the bedding, and as long as the glue is bonded, the load is spread out over the entire action area.potatoe said:What do you consider a 'big' cartridge? up to a .308 win?
