Palma Loads with 185 Bergers?

Hi Guys........
Looking for some starting loads using the 185 Berger BT bullet in a Lapua 308 case for Palma shooting. Barrel I have is a 1-12 twist Krieger 30" in length. Varget or maybe N550?

I have had very good luck with RL-15. Start low and work up. I am loadinding 45.0 to 45.5 in my 12 twist barrel.

i would stick with the single base powders. they seem to have better stability in the temperature extremes. varget would be a good choice. also give 4064, 4350, 4320 and 4007 ssc a try. you may not get as much velocity as re-15, but you won't have to have separate loads for hot, cool, and cold weather.

Got to show my limited knowledge here.... but I thought that Palma was limited to 155 gr bullets. Educate me... cause I apparently don't know. Thanks, Tim

U.S.A. palma matches there is no bullet weight limit. Fullbore and international palma have a 156 grain bullet limit for the 308s.
The Berger 185 grain BT bullets will shoot out of the 30" 1:13 twist palma barrels, very hard for ANY other bullet to beat them. The MV can be over 2800 fps.
