Well back out last nite near the gut pile I left from prior days deer.
Saw it was untouched, sat 150 yds on hill side I shot the deer from.
After an hour I saw a coyote working the tall grasses trying to locate pile.
I let it do its job, then it popped out of the 5' tall grass, weeds, tulies stood for a min or two, turned broadside to take a bite....thwaap drop it on the spot.
Big female.
Moved a mile west to a mess of over grown nasty CRP stuff.
Called in a giant male that took 35min to decide to commit fully, crp pretty much covered him. He finally got to lower grasses where it stood out perfectly, 135 yds, thwaap drops, my pal shoots as there were 2 young ones running around in front of him, drops 1 and its lost in the waist high crp mess.
Well cant complain w 2 big coyote.
The males fur was thick with cockle berry thistles.
6x6.8, 65g vmax, ar15, agm adder 35 640v2 thermal
Pals 6x45, 65g vmax, agm 35 384 adder thermal, both of us suppressed

Never bought or used a suppresser. Guessing that level of sound is not remotely close to straight firing and does not scare the bejesus out of game.

Getting one, then having a barrel threaded for it, doing all the testing needed and paying the bill have all stopped me, Since I like to use a variety of rifles, that would restrict it to one rifle. You know you cannot just have one.

Negative, can use thermals on state lands also, but you do have to wear a IR lite that can be seen in a nite vision scope that rangers use for night poachers, etc.
Just follow the night regulations and no issues.

Yup, on state/public lands, night hunting closed till after regular hunting seasons are closed.
