A popular Irishman named Paddy O'Riley had passed away, and at the man's wake a friend who had been away for a while chatted with the widow O'Riley.

"Might ya tell me Colleen," he asked, "Just what was it that brought old Paddy down."

"Of course I can." Colleen replied, "It's no secret around here."

"As you well know, my Paddy always liked his whiskey." The friend nodded in agreement. "And as he got older, he seemed to like it more and more. It seemed that the more he drank, the more he wanted, and I must say that in the end, he literally drank himself to death. It was quite awful."

The friend shook his head sadly and asked, "Did you ever think of trying Alcoholics Anonymous?"







"Oh heavens no!" exclaimed Colleen, "It never got THAT bad!" jd

I heard he drowned. Paddy, as you all know worked as a janitor at the Glenfiddich brewery. He apparently fell into an open vat cleaning a clogged valve. The story was that he was dragged out three times before he died...
