Pa f class

Just getting started in f class shooting was wondering some good ranges for a beginner to get started. I live in western pa. So i guess my question is there a good place to go for beginners to shoot and learn how to shoot correct.

We have a man that is a specialist at these problems and his name is Rod Vigstol. I will send him a text and bring in our best man for this job!!

I had to fix Rod's last name before he returned the favor, lol.

Jortz,

Please take a look here, specifically the first post and the attached excel file: http://forum.accurateshooter.com/index.php?topic=3787129.0

Figure out which range your closest too and we can go from there.. There are several in PA and one OH that may be in your area. Give me a holler via the PM function with the info.

Great group of folks here, we should be able to get you hooked up and running this spring. Don't let Immike fool ya, he is one of the good guys here..

I live near kittaning. Ive been looking at reader range too but dont want to go somewhere andhave a bad time. Looking to try somewhere to mabey learn how it all works and rules ect
Mostly trying not to make a fool of myself.

you need to read the rule book, that should answer a lot of questions. Going to a match and watching will give you a lot of what other people are doing.

As others have mentioned, Reade Range, Greensburg Sportsmans, and Alliance Rifle Club in Ohio are all relatively close to you.

Click the link Nodak7mm provided for information.

PM me for Greensburg info.

I have read the rule book hundreds of times and im good there.
Can someone give me a rundown of how a comp is typical ran

Reade Range is probably your best bet:

Lots of good shooters and plenty of F-Class matches.

Most days, there are two or three individual matches with anything from 2 to unlimited sighters and 15 or 20 rounds for record for each match. There are usually three relays so one person shoots, the second scores and the third pulls and marks the targets. There is almost always a Match Bulletin on a club's website that lays out the course of fire. The best thing to do is show up with enough ammo to shoot the course of fire then just ask questions. I've never been to a range where there isn't help for a new shooter. You should be sure your gun is suitable for the distances you'll be shooting at, particularly if you are going to shoot past 600 yards and have a decent zero and elevation come-ups for the distances you'll be shooting. Various forums on this site have lots of info on what is needed to shoot at various distances, but you need to be supersonic at the target and have a good enough zero to be on paper or you and others around you can have a bad day.
