Pa coyotes

Sure am'! Ive actually been getting them in the south eastern parts near maryland. They come right in at night. Not so in the daylight. I bring them outta the woods at night with a primos horn and then squeak'em in from there.

Have to try calling at night been calling early morning when its extremely cold over night but nothing tons and tons of tracks tho.

My son trapped two, and a friend of his trapped one. I've tried calling last year at night and during the day with no luck. Been very busy this winter, haven't tried any. No one else I know around here hunts them yet. They shoot an occasional one in deer season, but I don't consider that coyote hunting. Interested to hear any Pa. successes if you've had em.

That's great. How many have you gotten? I suppose you use a shotgun at night? How late do you have success, just after dark, middle of night, or before dawn?

I used a miner's light to spot them coming in with an amber lens. I had a spot light bulb in a wax can mounted on top of my scope. It had a micro switch on the side of the stock. When the got in close enough, I would hit the micro switch. It would light them up just like day. It works on fox too. I used a H&R 22 hornet

I use the " sub zero" 50mm laser genetics. I had their 30mm first model and it was friggin terrible!! Anyhow, Ive got a dozen or so. In the winter I get them just after dark to about 11:00pm. In the spring and summer theyre out all times. I either use a hornet, .204 or believe it or not a .17 hmr, though not my first choice. Ive found that electronic calls dont seem to work around here?

BOY... that's a tough way to kill em in PA.. I hear alot about "my uncle", "MY brothers friend" but I've never know anyone who has actually killed one by calling. We killed 31 last winter and 11 so far this winter by dogs.. it's alot of work but it's the only way I've ever found to take em' out in PA.. and it seems when we kill one in an area the next week there are two to replace him.. it's a loosing battle at best!!

I use a Primo's electronic call. Seen lots of tracks but have not called any it yet but had a lot of red foxes respond to call.

Did manage to get two coyotes this summer while hunting groundhogs. One actually came after a ground hog I shot along a tree line. I nailed him at 186 yards with my 223.

Shot another one that was after a farmer's cat while ground hog hunting, nailed him at 215 yards, 223 again.
