I have recently determined that my present load for my 25.06 is a little on the warm side. I'm shooting a 90 gr. Sierra(#1616) using IMR 4350. Because the scope on this rifle has a Kenton turret I wish to remain around 3450fps velocity. So, on powder burn rate charts...The slower burning powders will produce the least pressure?? In a nutshell, I'm want to use another powder that will hopefully produce the above velocity with lower pressures. :-\

I would say H4831 would be your best bet,but start low and work up.

So you are not worried about accuracy as long as it's going 3,450 fps?

If it is going to be used for hunting and NOT target shooting, try RL-19.. It is fairly dirty BUT it will give you the velocity you seek and the pressures SHOULD be somewhat lower than with IMR 4350... However, if you do not have that powder, H4831 should work very well for you..

Till someone know the barrel length nobody can help. Barrel length is from the bolt face to the muzzle. Larry
