PLEASE READ Over 1400 Gun/Ammo Fake Websites Revealed

Forum Boss

Administrator
Folks,
There are now over 1400 (one thousand four hundred) fake websites selling guns, ammo, and shooting supplies. These 1400+ sites were created by criminals who want to steal your money.

The sites are everywhere. See them at: StopGunScams.com
They look like legitimate vendor sites or manufacturer sites.

Typically, they require PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, CashApp, AppleCash or Bitcoin payment.

The company StopGunScams.com locates these websites through sophisticated searches. Sadly, StopGunScams has confirmed that a new scam site can be created in an hour or two by these scammers.

The message -- don't even consider ordering from a site that you have not verified. NEVER ever do a transaction except with a major credit card that offers buyer protection.

Personally I would not do ANY transaction with a vendor that is not an active sponsor of this site, or an affiliate such as Creedmoor Sports.

Here is one of the latest scam websites. It's call "The R*load*rs House" (asterisks added). NOTE: We will not link directly to scammers.

Here is what appeared when we ordered Fifty 5000-primer packs of CCI 450 primers. NOTE the payment methods. Folks, if you EVER see anything like this... immediately stop EVERYTHING and do NOT buy!!!!

NEVER EVER use Venmo, Zelle, Cash App, Apple Pay, PayPal, or Bitcoin to buy this kind of stuff. Stick to MAJOR CREDIT CARDS.

TY boss, your vigilant on these scams and it’s appreciated! I’m finding more and more of these sites when searching for components, somehow some of them have managed to be on the first or second page of a google search. Hopefully people are reading warning such as this and paying attention. As soon as I see they won’t take a credit card I exit, or any of the usual tip offs, Zelle, Venmo etc.

Happy Friday people!

Also,
Some of the scam websites will have a Credit Card logo to try to fool you. They will capture your CC information and may sell that on the Dark Web.

So absence of major credit card processing is a 100% warning, but be careful even if the site shows a Credit Card option. What they'll do is get you to enter the info, and they say "can't process, provide CashApp or Zelle etc."

Bottom line, if it is a company you have never heard of, and they have vast quantities of hard-to-find products, it is almost certainly a SCAM. Stick to the vendors at the top of the Forum.

Good to know!

There is another bad side effect.

I have had bullets on clearance and I know for a fact I have lost tons of sales because I am a relatively new business. People are assuming my site is a scam site because I'm not one of the established stores. I've had people tell me that.
I don’t buy bullets from you for one reason. I already have too many. I just want your barrels!
You’re a GREAT vendor! AAA+++ guy to deal with!

Thank goodness we have that amazing Department of Justice [and FBI] that are putting an end to all these scam websites that are ripping people off. Goodness knows all of these people that are doing this stuff are going to go to jail. Thank goodness.

This is sarcasm by the way...

Anytime you search for anything to do with guns -- ammo, primers, powder etc., most of the hits are fake. Just look at payment, if its Venmo, Zelle or Bitcoin, its probably fake. Even some that take credit cards are fake too. I just order from the reputable dealers, Brownell's, Midway, Powder Valley, Natchez, and Graf's for reloading.

What I don't understand is some of the fake URLs include the brand name like Federal Primers. I'd think the legal department would be aggressive at shutting them down. Hodgdon actually has a Fraud alert PSA when you go to https://hodgdon.com/.

I have enjoyed shopping on your website...need to go take a look again anyway. Thank you!!

Also, I have found that these scam sites generally all have a chat function at the lower right hand corner or the left hand side as well, just glaring right there plain as day. You see a big "Let's Chat" or whatever, RUN....
