Long time shooter and handloader, that is always trying to better myself no matter the discipline. First time at this range with some very successful long range shooters. Fired some warm up shots and then a sub 1/2" group at 200 yards. Then on to the long range section of the club. Began shooting at 300 yards and moving out at 50 yard increments to 600. I was nervous, not wanting to look like to big a fool. Forgot to bring my dope sheet, but with a good spotter that was not an issue. When I did my part, I routinely banged the steel, all the way out. For me, shooting has many similarities with racing. The process slows with experience and I filly expected that. Like I said, I was just feeling my way. Thought I had an issue with my scope being out of focus and getting worse the farther out I went. No scope issue, just a poor operator. I never used the side focus, just kept dialing the power down. I was too locked in the say anything. Last shot I smacked a golf ball at 600 yards at 10 power. Looking forward to my next outing and future competing.
I was shooting my new 6BRA. Still learning the gun and related equipment, but loved every minute of the process.
