I just bought the Otis Patriot .22 rifle cleaning kit. Unfortunately, the product has recently (?) changed to be a combination .17 & .22 caliber cleaning kit. As such, everything has been downscaled to .17 - meaning the .22 brushes and mops use a miniaturized thread size (and thus won't accept standard .22 mops or brushes). The included mop and brush is about .75" long making it pretty much useless. I'm thinking of exchanging it for the .223 kit but am wondering if that kit uses the 8-32 treading of standard brushes/mops, or is it is likewise downsized. I'm hoping I can use real brushes/mops instead of the pinky finger width ones that the kit includes.
