Here is what happened … the reason I asked about being on other boards. There is one forum that I’ve found to have overly sensitive moderators. This is the 2nd run in I’ve had with a moderator on this board. The last one I could accept their thought process to a degree – but that is another discussion.
I posted a comment about Colorado on three forums yesterday and one today – pretty much what I posted on here under this thread titled “Colorado†(below this thread on next page). Not a lot of difference in the posts. Two forums the message was put on areas where you get into political discussions and the other forum I put it on the main site where people post.
This is the response I got from the one thread – where it was posted in a “political sectionâ€
You may actually pity the folks in Colorado. That's fine. We have other threads discussing legislation in Colorado. You're welcome to join in those.
However, starting a thread with "I pity you" and "you should get rid of those liberals" . . . well that comes across as condescending, and that will just get your threads locked.
I responded and the moderator came back with “your tone was condescending†… which I haven’t responded yet but – yes, that was the point. What has transpired in Colorado (where I grew up) lacks any logic what-so-ever and when you have people in one small portion of Colorado setting laws for the whole state that people disagree with – then stating the obvious and speaking to the choir is expected. BTW … getting rid of those liberals is done by making the 51st state from just south of Denver up through Boulder and Greely where you have the vast majority of the liberals in the state within an area that would compete with Rhode Island on size. By doing so – the conservative portion of Colorado can just eliminates the liberals.
They took the thread down … which really amuses me and leaves me bewildered. I have read some pretty blunt and “condescending†postings on various forums … from metal detectors, coin sites, as well as gun/hunting related forums. A lot more so than this thread.
Don’t know but this forum (The Firing Line) seems to be really sensitive … and given it was posted in a thread where you would expect comments.
The other forums – a handful of people responded, many read and chose not to … otherwise the thread continues to move off the main page and would be lost to oblivion in short order.
Anyone ever run into this?
