OT snow

Just came in from running the snow blower, cleaning up the 1st snow of the season. Not much in the driveway, about 3 in., but with fused lumbar and needing knee replacements shoveling is out of the question.
Thing is I'm almost 71, retired and have to go nowhere, wife and daughter both have to go to work, but watch me out the window (no help).
What is wrong with this picture?

Not a thing! Keep moving or you die. You just got your cardio for the day.
A few years after I retired, our brick chimney needed the top 5 feet replaced. I worked with my favorite Amish mason to fix it. I could barely keep up with him. The guy went up and down the scaffolding like a monkey while I was out of breath. At lunch one day, I asked him how old he was. “75”, he says. I asked what his secret was and he looked me square in the eyes. “ Don’t sit around much”

After
I thought I recognized those pictures.
You have that nice Kubota tractor to use. After several hours on mine I need a break. Usually so cold I am to stiff and sore to get off of it. At 71 both knees replaced, looking at shoulder surgery first of next year a shovel no longer fits my hands. Best thing I made for the tractor was a snow plow. Works really well on those long driveways, and roads.

Everyone stay safe dont over do it.

Never once watched that show when it was on AMC. Then we got the Netflix and I'll be darned if I didn't watch the whole damn series in about a month

Boy, can I ever relate to this.
I'm just past the 76 yr old mark, two replacement hips, rebuilt crushed ankle, one rebuilt knee, three compression fractures of thoracic and lumbar vertebra, and after 30 surgeries, not really interested in shoveling the 4" in the driveway right now, but it's gotta get done. Guess who's going out there in a few minutes to do it, like it or not?

I told my wife that if we buy a snow blower it wouldn't snow for five years. Well, there's no blower in the garage.......

Yup. I know what you mean. I'm almost to my 7th decade and was out yesterday for around 8 hours after the last snow storm knocking snow off the roof of my house and shop, shoveling the deck, snowplowing/snowblowing my driveway, and doing my disabled neighbor's long driveway.

This is only about 1/3 of my neighbor's driveway:

I'm too old for this $hit. LOL
On a happy note, I lost to my addiction and ordered Zermatt TL3 action #6 this AM to put on a second Urbanrifleman Econo barrel that's on order. :)
Oh Man, You keep talkin like that, Your gonna push Me over the top and I”ll place an order !

84 yrs old, no help either. But keep plugging away, slow and easy, with plow on jeep, snow blower and shovel to keep my drive/home open. So far this year a good snow fall. About five feet so far.

I use a 35 year old Wheelhorse 520H tractor I rebuilt with a snowblower attachment. I have great fun doing the driveways in my neighborhood. The only problem is that we get so little snow I haven't used it in at least three years. Takes all the fun out of life. At 86, I won't live long enough to wear it out.

The wifes job is in the house (our agreement) mine is outside. If I can't get it done then it's MY job to figure it out. Thankfully there are a couple neighbor kids that like a few extra bucks now and then.
