OT looking for a Texas gulf fishing guide

Looking for a good guide for some fishing this summer. Buddies and I do a yearly trip and we decided on the gulf this year. Would like to do a full day offshore then a night gigging flounder as well. Any of you guys down that way guide or have some recommendations. Thanks in advance!

I would recommend skipping Texas and finding a good guide in Venice LA, Grand Isle, or Fourchon
Offshore
You want a tuna trip or rig/ snapper fishing?
Flounder pounding is not gonna happen in Venice but will in Grand Isle and Fourchon but idk anyone who guides for it, just grab a couple Coleman lanterns and a gig
But fyi it’s very water clarity/ weather dependent
Maybe think about a inshore trip one day for speckled trout or Redfish

What makes you recommend LA over TX if you don’t mind me asking?

Louisiana is great for flounder giggling, but your aim better be good as the Louisiana Flounder is considered a minnow when compared a good ole Texas Gulf Coast Flatfish

Seriously, the best flounder fishing is along the barrier islands in south east Texas, between Port Aransas and Brownsville along the inland shores of Padre Island.
My wife’s Great Uncle was the Captain on a Dredge down in that area some years ago, and we I used to go down there, stay on the Dredge, and fish for and gig Flounder, as well as Specs and Red Fish.

Lol, we think alike. I’ve had some good fishing inTexas but my best trips have been in and around Grand Isle. As Akajun mentioned your success in either place is weather dependent, I would try and schedule 2-3 days just so you have a cushion of time. The month of May has always been awesome, we usually do a day of inshore for speckled trout, reds and the such and then a day out on the rigs.

As far as guides go LA is full of them. I go with my Uncle or I would recommend someone, just make sure you check references and don’t delay booking, the best days book up fast with the good guys. Try and avoid going during hurricane season, the fishing isn’t as good and it can all be for not if your timing is bad.

Check out Venice, La. I’ve done a couple great Redfishing trips there. Latest reports from my cousin in Port O’Conner is the fishing sucks. The big freeze a few years ago hit them hard and it still hasn’t recovered yet.

I’m from Texas and have spent many months fishing the gulf.

I’d also recommend Venice, LA.

However, Port Aransas is still good as is Port Mansfield. We have a boat but if I fished inshore with a guide it would be Captain Chad Peterek beyond a shadow of a doubt.

Well
I’m from here
Texas limits are generally smaller that LA
Especially on redfish 1 as compared to 5
I’ve fished a lot on the coast
Venice / grand isle is known as the best fishing in the gulf , I’ve been at the docks and spoken to people from around the world that came here.

captian james peters of osprey charters in Venice La
Hardest working charter captian on the planet
Have fished with him many times sucessfully

Come into New Orleans, have a great meal, stay in NO or Venice (about an hour away from NO) experience some incredible fishing. Venice is the only place I know of where you can catch marlin, tuna, tarpon, wahoo, redfish, snapper, speckled trout, flounder and largemouth bass pretty much all within a boat ride of where you launch.
