OT Blast From My Past

Shooting/guns content...I remember there was a Winchester Model 12 on two pegs above the doorway as you went from the shop area into the office. It was there for years, covered with dust.

The picture came up among a local group on f-book. This place was/is on Route 83, which at the time of the photo was 76, right next to the railroad tracks which would be on the right in the pic. The utility poles in the pic ran along the tracks. On the opposite corner was a little train station, mainly freight I think. We would ride our bikes up to the feed mill and hang around just for something to do. We would run all around in there. There was a pop machine out on the loading dock. I don’t know who owned it before but in the late ‘60s or early ‘70s my friend’s dad bought the place.

It’s still there but it’s no long a feed mill. It’s been painted white, altered, added on to...there’s a barber, a golf simulation studio, ice cream place, a local brewery and restaurant.

Anyway, part of great childhood memories!Untitled.jpg

In later years we would go down along the tracks, back behind from where this photo was taken, and shoot 22's and shotguns. No adult supervision, we were responsible enough and trusted by our parents (and we were also teenaged at that time so not really children) and later still at 16 years old we'd drive back in there as far as a vehicle could go and then walk in. I had to retrace the trail many times looking for the tubular magazine follower that had fallen out of my unloaded 22 while walking to or back from the shooting spot!

and we are supposed to guess the state? I grew up along route 83 but in Ill.
Well I never thought about saying what state I guess it just didn't occur to me to mention it. But, it's the state that's hi in the middle and round on both ends.

Ohio.
