ordering from powder valley

Well I've got a stupid question to ask in regard to ordering from powder valley and could use a little clarification from someone who has ordered from them. Scrolling down on their homepage it looks to me that PV requires a copy of my drivers license and a statement of intent before I can order from them. Am I reading this correctly?

copy of drivers licence is only needed when ordering haz mat. powder and primers. one time deal

I've been making purchases from Powder Valley for years, bullets & brass only, no Hazmat required items, and have never provided them with anything, except payment method & shipping address.

I have only been using them for a couple of years and I do not remember sending them a copy of my DL. Then again, I don't remember what I had for lunch yesterday.

+1 (on both subjects :)) )

Don,t be scared they are a very good company. I too don,t remember ever sending them anything but do remember their good service. The phone and e-mail both get answered. I would just order what you want and get a lot of it. They will let you know if they need something from you , but I doub't it.

Thanks for the help. I was hoping that I had misread something. I have to say that sending a copy of my drivers license to anyone makes me a bit nervous, I probably won't do it. There has to be a better and safer way for them to get age verification. Should I change my mind and order from PV I will certainly link through this site. Again, thanks for clearing this up for me.

I would worry about sending them a copy as I have been doing it for years to buy stuff like this with no problems.Mail it,dont fax unless its a secure server which they can answer for you. It is really no big deal.

Yes, if you're a new customer they need proof of age for their records. The statement is a little reassurance that you know what the risks are with powder / primers and will use them safely.

Unless your Maryland license has your SS# on it, it's safe enough sending them a fax copy. I've sent mine via e-mail but I have software I can put a big red COPY on the image.

They're a good company with excellent prices & service. They'll also ship to me here in Illinois, which some vendors will no longer do. I do business with them fairly regularly & never had a problem.

I wonder if this has more to do with what state you reside in. I live in Georgia and just placed my first ever order with them a couple of weeks ago. 16 pounds of powder and 3,000 primers. I did not need to supply any proof of age. (I'm 38 if it matters. :o )

no driver's license or anything like that here---I've ordered more than several times from PV---must be your socialistic state government--these online retailers have to be careful of idiotic things like that---report it to the NRA---
