Ordering from Midsouth today

my billing address is a PO Box. The shipping on a box of lapua cases was over $18 by usps priority. It finally dawned on me that if there were alternative shipping methods like UPS or Fedex they wouldn't show because I had a PO Box as my primary address and they don't deliver to PO Boxes. I went looking and sure enuf there was an option to add a separate physical shipping address. I did and was able to get the one box shipped for $11. I criticized them the other day for excessive shipping but I was wrong. I didn't take the time to think it over before I shot my mouth off. Sorry MidSouth, I stand corrected.

Midsouth won my allegiance the first time I ordered from them. I fat fingered my shipping address. One digit wrong. The shipper brought the package all the way out to my town and then returned it to Midsouth. I called MS and corrected my address, telling them it was my mistake. They shipped it out again at their cost. I offered to pay shipping again and they said no.

I have UPS/Fedex deliver to my PO Box by using the USPS Street Addressing option for your PO Box. This feature is available for most PO Box's (since 2012). You can ask your local post office where your PO Box resides if this feature is available.

In the early 90's I could order reloading components from MidSouth with no border problems. I made an order of many bullet heads, gave the lady at MS my CC # and hung up. About 3 hrs later I received a call from this lady at MS informing me that the shipping on my order, due to the weight (air mail) would be just about as much as the order of bullets. Now MS didn't have to do this. They had my CC # and could have just shipped the order after all it was my fault. I should have checked the shipping on the order, but they felt there was something wrong. I thanked the lady and cancelled the order but became a life long customer. This is service. JME

I'll have to give them a try. Been using Midway for years and fairly happy with them but it's always good to have another source in these weird shortages times.

Nov 14th I ordered an 8lb. keg of CFE223 for $220 shipped but I screwed up my Credit card number. Mid December I check my order, realize my mistake, see the powder is out of stock, and tell myself I am an idiot and I missed the boat. Fast forward to January 11th I see an email in my junk folder from Midsouth telling me I have until the 15th to fix my CC number or they're 'returning my order into inventory'. I do and they ship it out...They held that keg of powder for 2 months for me!

Honest effort to secure packaging too not just throw in a box with a bubble pack.
That's another biggie over MIDWAY USA. SECURE PACKAGING.
I dread each order i make with Midway, especially if its something heavy like bullets
More than once they get to my door spilling bullets out the box, but I still chance it.
Also just this week I put in a brass order with Midsouth and I managed to mess up the
Credit card info. They sent me a email letting me know they would hold it for a while till
I called or corrected things. I got a email today saying my order is on the way. Midsouth very good company. HB

Midsouth is my 1st choice. Apparently a lot of other's too because their items in stock is way down.

The thrill of the hunt continues even in the off season. Paying shipping from 3 or 4 different places every month is kind of a drag though.
Thanks for reminding me of that. Kind of reminds me of when in the early 80's I was rebuilding a 1941 check YS ton and a half truck. At times it was frustrating trying to find "components" but in the end it was like a kids easter egg hunt and overall lots of fun.

#1 Midsouth Shooters Supply.....Best customer service, Always the best or second best on price. If you had a account with them , 8 years ago during the “Shortage” they let you back order and they would keep it for you until there was enough to make it worth the hazmat fee.
They contacted me on 2 different occasions that I had enough and if I would want my order shipped they would pay the Hazmat Fee.

The forum has been real entertaining lately just watching the WTB and FS for 3 to 4 times the price and I’m happy I don’t have to participate

#2 Powder Valley..... usually right in there on pricing

#3 Graf’s Reloading.... They deliver to the Gun Club I’m a member of

#4 Midway USA..... Just one example $5.56 a pound higher on 8 pound jug of Vihtavuori powder

That’s probably why a few sellers quote Midway ...... and a few buyers quote Midsouth & Powder Valley

When I first started reloading in 2005, I was stationed at FT Campbell, KY. I really enjoyed the convienence of placing my order with Midsouth over the phone, then driving just a couple miles to pick it up myself. ALWAYS a pleasant experience with the folks at the counter, but I sure wish they would let you walk around in there!
As a “First-timer” they were very helpful to me, and I will sing their praise forever because of that.

I also use Midsouth , never had a problem with them . Glad you admitted your mistake . Words can hurt especially now a days. Our country has gone crazy. Be Well.
