Optimum bullet jump for 22-250 Remington Savage Model 12 BVSS

Using my Hornady Lock n'Load bullet comparator I measure a COAL of 3.151" for my 22-250 rounds with the bullet tight at the rifling. Does anybody have any experience with how much to reduce the COAL by to obtain the best bullet jump for accuracy?

Think you need to look at that measure again, ive got the same rifle in 22-250 and mine measures 2,511".

But my rifle likes em jumping and starts to spit em all over if i dare seating them out near the lands.

My varmint load is 36,4gr N-140 behind 55gr Blitzkings Moly coated in Norma cases with COAL of 2,370".
Its shooting well under an inch at 100yrds and im not fiddling with it till i get my new stock as with the factory stock its kinda pointless to try to find the perfect load!

Edit. sorry Mine is FVSS not BVSS like yours but its the same barreled action if im not mistaken.

One of my .22-250 rifles works well with Berger 70 VLDs jammed .015" or with Sierra 69 MK jumped .025". It is very dependent upon the bullet, throat and charge weight. Although there are some proven combinations, each rifle has its own characteristics. You will likely need to determine the optimum experimentally.
