I've never used one but I know at our matchs tons of guys use them all the time they must work for that many guys to have them on their rifles.

I've been using the 3X's on my 1K guns with the 12x42 NIghtforces.

I don't see a down side.....

I am interested in this also. I need max possible magnification to shoot at long distances. Where can I read up on these who does them and whats the strongest final power you can actually use? Thank you PG

For your edification:

TARGET SCOPES from 6mmBR.com

"Exit Pupil: Given objectives (front lens elements) of equal size, the more magnification the scope, the smaller the exit pupil. Remember that the exit pupil, a tiny circle of light, must deliver ALL the optical data your eye receives. Bigger is better by far.

Too small an exit pupil will make a good scope dim and hard to use.

That's why we advise against boosting the Weaver T-36 or the 36X Sightron.

With their respective 40mm and 42mm objectives, the exit pupil becomes too small when they are boosted beyond 36X."

Don't know about the Leupold 36X. I tried a 3X on my Weaver and sent it back. Proceed with an open mind.

I've used them on 12-42 Nightfoce, 36X Weavers, and Premier boosted Leupold LRT's and Comp. Models without any problems and managed to set a Record or two with them.

It's not the scope that can become the issue of which one to use it on, it's the eye that is the factor, some can't see to start with and installing a booster that magnifies the image just makes it worse.

Check out Bulz Eye Pro not because they are one of my sponsors, but because they work.

For internal boosts you need to see Bill Ackerman or Wally Siebert as Premier doesn't boost Leupolds any longer.

Mike,

When usings the booster on the Nightforce 12 42x56 what kind of power are you getting. Can you see bullet holes at 600yrds.

Any info would be great.

The Bulz Eye Pro's 3X adapter is the one I tried on my Weaver 36X Competition, and then ending up sending it back. Didn't work for me.

Thought this was going to be a great product. used it once on a weaver once on a leopold and that's THAT. This was the slip on not the screw on. DOGDUDE

I believe the optical booster also increases the thickness of the reticle.

It magnafies the scope image, it CAN NOT ONLY EFFECT THE RETICLE!!!

This is one problem with internet Forums....passing on bad or false product info for the world to see and then pass it on to others without having first hand knowledge.

dogdude,
What Model was it, did you buy it new from Bulz Eye Pro? If so you know they have a warranty. Not just any one of the Models will work for every use, there are 2x,3x, & 4x, Short Range and Long Range, Coated and Uncoated....and it's all based on the eyes or eye of the user, nothing else.

Thinking you can just slide anything on and have it magicaly give you what you want is ......well I won't say it.

You should of given it a fair try, not just slide it on ONCE, if it was the first experience that everything in the world was based on .....we'd still be in the stone age.

Samlisi1,

I have Target pullers for 600 yd. Comp., seeing bullet holes is not needed, for practice I use a Remote Camera system, so again seeing .22 holes in a black target is not my point, it's seeing the Target and getting the info from the view of the Mirage. With .3 increase you should be in the 50x area, at .4, 56x or so depending how far away the multiplier is, the farther you can have it away the more magnatication and decreased eye relief.

I use the 4x Multi-Coat with a Custom Slide on Adaptor that all but eliminates parallax and gives me zero eye relief for F-Class.

From the 30 July 2007 Blog on this site:......"However, there is a price for the extra magnification- the reticle will appear slightly larger, & the image will appear slightly darker. Some users say you will notice a drop off in resolution past 300 yards."
From another site users noted that in addition to the increase in reticle size, the reticle may go out of focus, especially on the 4x model, and some scope brands do not have enough adjustment to bring it back into focus.
It is a good, useful (to some) product. Some like it a lot, and some didn't.

Hi Guys once again
Well all you guys have sure given me plenty to think about and it seems people have different views about these optical boosters , some guys love them and some guys hate them and some guys cannot live without them, but which is the best , and which one would you fit to the Leupold 36X, it would be nice to hear from some one who uses one on a Leupold 36X either for F Class or .22 long range bench rest 100 Yds for their views , any way thanks to all you guys for your views up to now , good shooting and safe hunting take care.

I have noted the views from the Gent with the Nightforce scope, thank you.

All the best to all be safe.

Regards
Steve

I use the 3x Bullseye Pro on a 36x Sightron and the 4x muti coated Bullseye Pro on a 10-50x sightron. They really define the mirage waves for me so I can read the wind better.

When they first came out I bought a 3x booster from Gene Davis (now Bulz Eye) and tried it on my Weaver 36x and Leupold 36x. After making the recommended eyepiece adjustment, I found it was great at 100 and 200 yds., but from 300 yds. out the image was blurred. Target scoring rings could not be clearly seen. A shooting buddy tried it also. He has excellent eyes, and his finding was exactly like mine. I returned it to Gene Davis for full refund.

TAILDRAG15, your right I was a litttle short on giving the davis booster a decent chance. i'm going to dig that thing out a give it a better try and thank you for NOT saying IT. by the way, I think I'm still in the STONE AGE....WWIILLLMMAAAA!!!!!!!! dogdude
