Opinions on matches at Atterbury

Would like to hear opinions, pro and con, on the Hp National matches held at Camp Atterbury this year. Were they well run, any major glitches and accommodations?

I went to CampAtterbury and shot the hipower championships for four days, aprox 170 shooters there, I was there for more than four days but there was a big lack of people to shoot the team matches with. What a diffrence when I got to CampPerry a few days latter,There was over thirteen hundred for the Presidents match, the leg had almost the same, the jr.teams, 2man teams, six man nmc teams, Itt teams, ect. The awards was in the theater and it was packed full of shooters too. Perry was a great week of shooting. Davek.

I shot both Atterbury and Camp Perry, both were well run matches, no glitches. I stayed on base at Atterbury and off base at Camp Perry and accommodations were fine. Atterbury had a heck of an airshow though.

Been shooting at Camp Atterbury off and on for 30 years, but fairly regularly for the last two after they got electronic targets. I was a bit apprehensive after hearing NRA moving there from Camp Perry, since I've been going to Perry for about 35 years. My hat is off to LTC Shawn Gardner for his efforts in rebuilding the ranges for this event. Overall, thought the NRA did a wonderful job orchestrating the matches in light of having only about a 6 month prep time. I'm confident next year will be even better, and look forward to it. Turnout was skimpy, but attendance has been heading that way for several years now. I'm sure some people stayed away simply because Atterbury is not "Camp Perry". From a shooting standpoint, I feel Atterbury's ranges are better conditioned than Perry, and will be even better next year.

I did all of Camp Atterbury, XTC, MR, and LR. With the exception of 2016 (work issues) I had been to Perry for the previous 10 years.

I loved going to Perry in the past and this year I loved going to Atterbury. Based on my experiences with both I will choose Atterbury next year. Now to be fair, I would likely make a different decision if I needed leg points. I shoot match rifle and prefer the NRA course of fire over the CMP's.

I thought the NRA did a great job running the matches and with a year of experience I think next year will see huge improvements over what already went very well this year.

The only way the first year there could have gone better would have been for all the folks that stayed home for reasons they could control would have shown up and supported the program.
