Opinions on Benchmark barrel for 1000YD BR build.

I have been offered a Benchmark barrel for my next 1000yd BR gun but havent heard much about these barrels. Are they up there with the premium makers? How are they OK for fouling? Are they generaly loose, tight, slow, fast?

Not only are they right up there with the premier makers, they are one of the premier makers. Guns wearing Benchmark barrels have won many competitions, and set some records. Fast or slow is going to depend on your twist rate and bullet. Loose or tight depends on what you order. I have had a few, and found fouling not to be a problem.

I've had very good results with Benchmark. Have used them in custom hunting rifles for several years, and have been using them for a couple seasons of comp. All ( in 6mm, 6.5, and .284 ) have shot really well, with one bonafide "hummer" Have one being chambered right now for next season. Good customer srevice. The last one I ordered, I had in 3 wks.----before I had even sent them the payment! Definitely a quality product IMHO----Scott

Take the barrel, I own three of them (6mm, 7mm, .30) they shoot great.

Well, it looks like I will be getting it chambered then. I will let you know how it goes if it becomes one of the hummers.

They are prob the number one barrel maker when it comes to .22LR barrels, I would say that, that quality spills over into the other barrels as well.

Happy thanksgiving.

My question how does twist rate change the speed of the bullet? I have a 7 1/2'' and 8'' which should shoot faster both are krieger 30'' .237 same reamer?

Thanks Good shooting Larry

I just ordered one on 6.5. I bought a used rifle with one in 22br and it is a super shooter as far as I'm concerned.
Best Wishes
