I have a gap between the receive and bolt (.039) on my Remington 700. Do you think this will give me a problem when ejecting a fired shell? I was told the bolt handle needs to be moved .020 inches. Is this going to fix the shell ejection. What to do. I know who to send it to if I need to weld, Accu-tig , Dan Armstrong

I wouldnt worry about the gap as long as the lugs and handle are camming together with proper timing.

Details from OP-
"G" prefix receiver,Bbl'd & chambered in 6BR.
"SHORT" cam OEM Rem late production bolt handle.
(current production/redesigned handle to eliminate the BURR & DING in handle cam surface associated w/ bolt cycling)

ANY,repeat,ANY OEM Rem & most clones,bolts/handles are TIMED into battery & not for Primary Extraction.

Truing/molesting the action/bolt lugs does not reverse this condition,it makes matters worse.

Location(fwd/aft) clearances vary depending on receiver/firing pin vintage w/ "D"&"E" prefix serial numbered receiver/ISS J Lock's being the worst to date.

Simple Facts

Just wanted to let everybody know, the bolt worked and ejected properly. Thanks for all the replies, nilebartram
