Opinion thread guys

Looking at getting a case prep center. What are you guys opinion on the Lyman, Frankford Arsenal, RCBS, or Hornady? If there are any others that I didn't mention please feel free to let me know.

I've had the Lyman for a few months now. It does everything it's designed to do well and has greatly sped up my process but I wish I would have spent a little more money on something with a trimmer integrated.

My first question is what are you planning to use one of the aforementioned "Prep Centers" for? The reason I ask is I have the Lyman and find it is adequate for general reloading/hunting reloads. But personally, I prefer doing it all by hand when it comes to "precision shooting." All those listed are alright, but if you REALLY want a better quality center. take a look at the Hornady Lock n Load Prep Center that sells for around $344. You can look it up on the Internet where you'll find some commentary by users of that unit. A shooting buddy of mine has one and uses it to prep his cases for Benchrest Precision Shooting.

I've been using the RCBS case prep center for 7-8 years. It does the job just fine, but the vertical design on the primer pocket tools have to be brushed off often. A buddy has a Hornady unit that the tools are mounted horizontal and that helps it self clean so to speak. If I was to buy another one, it have the tools mounted horizontally. JMHO.

It will be for precision loads for F-class. I want to speed up my prep process.

In that case, really any of those prep centers will work just fine. F/Class isn't quite as critical in case preparation as BR and I suspect any one will serve you well for that purpose. And do what those other gents suggest in terms of the configuration. Some folks find it more productive to have a "vertical" set up rather than a circular one such as mine (Lyman model). For me, it doesn't matter as long as it gets the job done. I have no idea where you are located, but you might also want to find someone near you who has that set up, or go to a Cabelas or Bass Pro Shop who usually carry them (or some other reloading center) so you can see them first hand.
