Opening Up Barrel Channel on Carbon Stock ?

I have a Howa Mini 6mm ARC and have been offered a Stocky’s Carbon Fibre Stock for a good price .
The problem is that the stock is for a Standard contour barrel and mine is a Varmint.
I have opened up barrel channels before on other stocks , but have never played with Carbon .
Is there enough meat in the Carbon outer to open up the barrel channel without breaking through to the inner core ?
Anyone done this or have an opinion?

Cheers

Ken

Are you sure there is an inner core?? I'd probably go exploring with a small (say 1/16") drill bit in a couple of spots to determine the lay of the land.
OOPS -- I just re-read that this stock doesn't belong to you. Maybe the owner will let you. ;)jd
