open up rem 700 bolt to ARC?

Has anyone modified a Rem 700 bolt to accept the ARC case head?
I suppose the .223 size could be opened up, or the .308 size bushed down, but either one has it's own set of challenges with extraction and ejection. Just curious if anyone has first hand experience?

In the old days a lot of 6PPC's were built on Remington actions. No more complicated than installing a Sako or M-16 extractor.
The trick is feeding.

When ya add up the costs, I think I'd just get a PTG bolt with the correct bolt face and be done with it. You could keep or sell your old bolt, too. Just be prepared to wait a bit but order a bolt with some nice diamond fluting, a .062 firing pin, Mini 16 extractor and have a new handle timed to it. They have firing pin assemblies for the .062 hole and that takes care of pierced primers. So, you're killing several birds with one shot going this route....correct bolt face, extractor, fluting, fp and fp hole, you can get them over sized for better race way fit.. Just my 2 cents worth. Without this getting into a ptg bashing thread, the main problem with them has not been quality but shipping time. Just be prepared for that going in. I would recommend the smaller fp and hole though. That little cartridge likes pressure and the factory bolts commonly crater primers even at modest loads. So I'd address that at the same time, whether you go with ptg or by re-working your existing bolt.
