Open bolt face from 222 for 219 Donalson Wasp

I would like to build a 219 Donaldson Wasp. I was thinking can I take a 700 small bolt face and have my smith open it up for the 30-30 rimmed case using a Sako extractor

Yes, that's an easy job for a gunsmith who is familiar with the process.

You didn't ask for opinions but here's mine anyway. Have the bolt face opened to fit the 308 size rim. Turn the rims down on the Wasp brass. This is the way many shooters did it back when the Wasp was a popular varmint and Benchrest cartridge. That way you don't end up with an odd size bolt face. It will increse the re-sale value and will also allow a re-barrel to a 308 based cartridge in the future, should you ever wish to do so.
