OnTarget Software on Mac using Codeweavers Crossover

Heading to the range tomorrow for some OBT testing and went to print targets out of OnTarget and it has apparently stopped working in Crossover v19.

I am still running Mojave on my MacBook Pro ostensibly to avoid problems with Crossover. I have put a ticket in with their tech support, but was wondering if anyone else had run into similar problems.

When my son's old gaming computer had a catastrophic failure last fall, I moved both Quickload and OnTarget over and both were running fine under Crossover v18. I use Quickload much more often and it is still working well (I just recently installed the April 2020 update without a hitch).

Not certain what's going on with OnTarget, but would appreciate any help someone who is more computer literate than me could lend.

Thanks!

Mike

Hate when folks post-up a problem and never provide any follow-up...

Codeweavers/CrossOver’s answer was to drop back to v18.5, the last working version. So much for progress!!

Will update if anything changes.

Another way to make this work is to install VirtualBox (its free) and install Windows 10 on it. Then install OnTarget on that windows. If you are willing to pay, Parallels works better than VirtualBox.
That should work for pretty much any Windows application.

You'll have to move the license and I think if you contact the developer(s) at ontargetsoftware@msn.com, they should be able to sort it out.

Thanks @praveen. Jeffrey at OnTarget is easy to work with and was quick to provide a new unlock key when I first transferred platforms. I need to give all of the credit he's due.

Many, many moons ago I went through both Parrallels and VMware to get a piece of chartering software to work for my son's Scout troop. Both were clunky at the time and VMware was down right intrusive.

CrossOver is a subscription service, ~$40ish a year and another ~$20 for tech support and doesn't require you to purchase a Windows license. It's relatively intuitive and works when it works, but appears they have been brought up short by Catalina and the lack of native 32-bit support though. I giveth to OnTarget and taketh away from Codeweavers - I'm not impressed with the customer support I "allegedly" paid for.

Appreciate the heads up on VirtualBox. Picking up a copy of Windows 10 may be more palatable then continuing to pay for something that's not going to work to it's full potential... either that or wait for the next hand-me down!

Again, thanks for the feedback and hopefully this will help someone else in the future.
