Hi all
I am starting a very interesting project, building a 404 Jeffery on a 1952 pre-64 M70. The M70 was originally a 220 Swift, converted to a 7x64. The stock was sold when I shot out the barrel and I just kept the action for just such a build.
Metal work is all sorted,
I managed to source a stock which comes from a 375 H&H Win M70 Classic, and I am faced with a couple of problems. It's easy enough to fit the receiver to the stock, by elongating the rear stock guard screw hole 1/8" forward, but the two piece floor plate leaves an ugly gap where the new stock is inlet for the one piece floor plate. Plus the area around the front guard screw is way too deep for the pre64 metal.
Does anyone manufacture a one piece floor plate for a Pre-64 that will fit a classic stock that fills those gaps and is a drop in to the classic stock
