Aeromax is the cans I was referring to.You'd be amazed what you can do with something like Varathane in a spray can. I have a walnut pistol grip I made in '73 that still looks good as new.
You can also buy two component clear coat in spray cans.https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0043B7UQY/?tag=accuratescom-20

You probably already know this or when you hear it, it'll make perfect sense, but do NOT use heat on a wood stock. Ask me how I know.Josh my local supplier can put automotive paint products in aerosol spray cans.
Depending on products even catalyzed.
I'm supposed to have a couple pieces of fancy wood show up today for a die job.
I'll be working with a different substrate and product than I'm use to, but that's the challenge for me, and way more fun than a VW bus.
Just got a stock for my wifes rifle.Saran Wrap. Who'da thunk it was useful for custom painting?![]()

The first one I did, was in the winter time and I wanted to speed up the clear. BAD mistake was putting a quartz lamp on it. Moisture came out of the stock and gave it a severe case of chicken pox....but the clear locked up really fast!
That was no fun to fix, either.
