OMG...,

look what I found!

First, the story. After reaching out to both Rick aka "Rick in Oregon" and Doug aka "TheCZKid" to help keep an eye out for one of Ricks BR Pivot's, both posted locally and were doing their due diligence to help locate one for me. Then about a month ago I thought I would search CL, just for the heck of it. One came up out of Sacramento, CA. After reading the ad and realizing this was the real deal, I called and left a message and sent an email. The next morning, I received and call from the seller. I told him I wanted it and that I would make the drive down the next day, to pick it up! I told him I was out of Dallas, OR (1200 miles round trip). He then said, he has a friend on vacation visiting him from Coos Bay, OR and that he could bring it home with him when he goes home at the end of the month, making it a much shorter drive. We did the deal, and I mailed him out a check (with fingers and toes crossed) and hope the seller was on the up and up. Yesterday the wife and I made the drive to go get it. This morning, I opened it up to have a look. Unreal......, this is a brand-new BR Pivot Deluxe, complete with Red Ox caring case and tags! The bottom of the feet don't even have scratches on them. This was never set up. Not sure when was the last year of production (2007?), but this bench was sitting in storage for the past 20 years. Theres a back story to this and why it was sold. The seller's brother had died some time ago and a lot of his shooting stuff was untouched for a very long time.

Thank you, brother, you will be thought of though-out my varminting years, this is a God send, and the bench will be used!

Sincere congratulations there, Mike. I know you looked far and wide for that puppy; your persistence sure paid off big time! The fact that you found one complete with the bag set in pristine condition is just icing on that proverbial cake.

I see the bench top bracket is separate from the assembly. You'll need some stainless steel button hex head 3/8" x 1" screws to properly fasten the benchtop to the bracket. Don't overtighten into the alloy threads.

You'll be one happy shooter next spring in the rat patch of choice.
BTW, I use mine for load development and accuracy testing too, even with my handguns with use of the Ransom All-Caliber Pistol Rest off the bench.

Looks like your quest has finally come full circle....rifles, custom brass, and now the bench. Way to go, good job sir! (Looks like a nice clean loading area too!)

Hold on now. That's a California bench. You're not allowed to shoot lead from it!! jd
That's funny jds, but It may have come from its former home in Cali, but those benches were entirely made in the USA, right here in central Orygun.

All the T6 alloy was sourced here in the US, the red oak bench tops were all made from US grown oak, produced by Salem Wood Products, all hardware was US made, no ChiCom components anywhere, and the company was veteran-owned. The BR Pivot was about as American as a product could possibly be.

I'm proud of that, and was sad when I learned the new owners outsourced production to the ChiComs which led to it's final demise, commercially speaking. All our benches were marked "Made in USA"......'cause they were. :)

Well as LUCKY as you are , did you go buy a lottery ticket or maybe a gun raffle ticket or maybe even press your luck a little and start a argument with your wife to see if can win. :)

Great bench. I’ve looked for one several times. The two I found were across the country and they didn’t
want to ship.
I would LOVE to find one one of the light weight ones.
Have fun shooting.

Thanks for posting a picture of the Ranson pistol rest.
I’ve been looking for a GOOD pistol rest.
That one looks like just what the Doctor ordered.
