Omega Trickler

This trickler appeared a couple of years ago. Its managed to survive. Its time to speed up the process and Im looking at this unit. I like it because you dont have to touch it to trickle your powder. It wont fall over, slide into your scale and it wont fly out the window or drop into the trash can.

Anyone honestly like this trickler? Thanks, Pipes

Sinclair has them in their summer catalog, Dandy Products Omega Trickler

The Omega trickler is , in my opinion, the only unit to purchase. Not only is it very adjustable but the key feature is that you can trickle/drop a single kernal of powder. Makes loading a larger batch of cartridges much faster.

If this trickler doesnt eat batteries by the pack I might like it. Maybe it can be converted to low-volt trans power?

Yah, then it can go to the range on batteries, plug it in at the house. Time to make a call................

Straightpipes,
I have loaded over 1000 rounds with the batteries that I first put in it. It hasn't slowed down yet,...two AA's.
Wayne.

Order it. You wont look back.

There is an option that has an optical sensor assmebly that shuts the trickler off when the scale beam lifts up. I havent tried that but Stan from Dandy products and I had a long discussion aboiut this option. He spoke very highly of it, and made a great arguement to purchase. Look at this option before you buy, there is not an upgrade available for after you purchase. I did not get it, but wonder everytime I use this thing if I should have.

I did make a shelf for the Omega and my RCBS beam scale that is just below eye level. The cord for the Omega is somewhat short, but I found I could use it a lot easier this way.

I have used this a lot and found that it is very adaptable in the speed of powder throw. It can be set up to throw at a fast rate, then trickled to achieve the charge weight desired.

I've never bought, used or seen a tool that does its job better than the Omega Trickler. I just wish I had invented it myself. The guy who did should be very proud of himself.

Batterys seem to last for a long time.
I have managed twice to set something on it so it runs until I notice it, and it's still working..

I have had my Omega for over a year with the same batteries and it's still going strong. I use it regularly and have reloaded approximately 1500 rounds in that time. I highly recommend it, a vast improvement over the manual tricklers.

I have used mine for about 1 year for a lot of reloading , and the same 2 AA's are still in there. The ease and accuracy will vary depnding upon the type of powder you are trickling, but if you take the time to adjust it (per directions) all the kernels will daisy-chain and trickle one at a time. I usually don't endorse products, but this one is good-to-go.

This all sounds real good guys. Let me ask seanhagerty a question, if he catches this ;

SEAN, are you suggesting that you actually throw a charge like "full weight" and then top it off with this thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! or maybe Im taking my expectations too far :P

Brian,

There is just a small difference between the prometheus and the omega trickler, That is about $2440 and over a years wait.

No argument on the Prometheus Gen II, got one and it is beyond anyone's expectations. That said, a shooting buddy has the Satorius scale and the Omega trickler. It's almost as fast and just as accurate. Oh, and you can pocket $1300 you didn't spend.

Truth, on all three counts.

Just got mine on Tuesday and loaded my first 100 rounds with it. Love it! Would definitely buy again. It made things go much smoother and faster. It's nice to be able to sit back in the chair and relax while hitting a button instead of me trying to hold the trickler in the air or try to scoop out powder because I dropped to much.

No way in ...... Your buddy is not even close to as fast, today my average charge time was 8 seconds, and your way off on the price difference, but that's another story.

Brian, I paid $900 for the GD-503 and $70 for the Omega trickler. I think the current price of the Prometheus is ~$2200. So, he was off by $70. That doesn't seem like that far.
