I don't get enough time with my son. The last time we met we talked about hunting together, specifically for varmints. Looking for suggestions, recommendations, and opportunities. I'm in Florida while he lives in Pennsy so Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, or Missouri might be best considering maximizing hunting time and minimizing travel time.
I'd welcome and suggestions you might have. We are both experienced shooters~!!

Howdy !

IF you were willing to make the big drive, then groundhog shooting in PA would be a sensible choice. Groundhogs are the Midwest varmint. Your son could drive you both around ? There is a post on accurateshooter that is talking about PA groundhoggin'.

I DK where in PA your son is located ? Depending on each state's laws and regs, perhaps West Virginia or even Eastern OH are potential choices.

Just thinking.

Son is in a suburb of Philly. We just received an open invitation to one of his friend's place in north central Arkansas. After seeing some pictures of his place and others lands in that part of the state we're thinking of buying some land. I'd move there permanently after having lived in FL since 1972. Not happy here any more. Should have moved there 10 years ago when land could be had for $1000 per acre. Now prices are up to $3500 per acre and the nicer pieces are $8000-$9000 per acre.

Why would I choose to "pay" when I can hunt on my son's buddy's land for "free" and get "free lodging" along with the hunting privileges~?????????????
Guess I missed that. Let me re-post. I'd go on a free hog hunt.
