Old Yeller strikes again!

Finally got out to shoot woodchucks today. Set up at a nearby farm and within 90 minutes had gone six for eight with the Superior Action 22PPC. One at 200 to start, then one at 275, another (head shot! IMMORTAL and MrMajestic) at 309 and I had to slip the bullet past some briars first, then one at 384, then one(head shot at 435 and another moments later (another head shot) at 410. Right after that my "stand" was invaded by thousands of flying ants, so I packed up and went for ice cream. My son was present to witness each one but we forgot to bring the video! :-X

A very good day and I am thrilled with the performance of the PPC

GREAT SHOOTING,NEVER SHOT A 22PPC BUT LOVE MY 6PPC BUT IT SOUNDS LIKE IT DOES A GREAT JOB!!!!

Yes, i am thrilled with the performance of this round. I am running a 50 grain vmax at 3500 fps, so it is a bit slower than a 22-250, but burns a bunch less powder, barks less and still shoots well. Because this rifle is an old bench gun it behaves real well off a rest and table. I have a 6PPC barrel and another 22PPC barrel that came with it, but I have never tried them. When this one dies, then...

Great shooting my friend! I have a soft serve stand on the way home from most of my locations. My wife will meet me there after a hunt for a trisk! ;D

Phil.

Once'd you get bit by Woodchuck fever, there is no cure... only temporary relief is to buy another woodchuck rifle.

;D

Phil, I been whackin' chucks for close to 20yrs up in Central NY. Heck, back then we'd walk the fields with .22Mags and even shoot 'em runnin' with a 12 gauge! Crazy thing is, if we brought a nice young one back, my buddy's Dad would cook it for us for supper!!! :o Seemed the natural progression toward precision rifles was 100% the fault of wanting to snipe those wary woodchucks, once the easy ones were eradicated. My buddy takes full responsibility for turning me into a rifle junky, LOL.

That part of CNY used to be 'shotgun only' for deer. When it became rifle legal for big game 5-6yrs ago, the commencement toward whackin' deer from distance was the next natural progression from 'chuck sniping. ;) Anymore, deer are just giant woodchucks that taste a whole lot mo' betta next to the taters... ;D

Really looking forward to hangin' out for a couple hours with snert. I'll be more than happy just to run the spotter/video, down a couple sodapops & enjoy watching that yellow beauty do its thing. Either way, hope to have some cool footage to share (with snert's permission of course)

Stay tuned!
