I just have to tell this story. I have a 94 Swede 6.5x55 that is 100 years old. I bought it a few years ago and restocked it, ( serial numbers did not match and it was hacked up) but I wanted one so I did it. It has a Leupold 2x7 compact on it, and I use for deer hunting. I have read they were originally designed for 160 gr rn bullets. I have been using 140's, but had a box of 160 Hornady rn's. I tried 45 and 46 gr of RL22 with this bullet, seat to 3.289 oal including nut. 46 grs was the winner with the first 3 shots going into 1.08. The second three went into .741, and yesterday the third test sent three into .474 all at 96 yards. It has the military barrel on it that I got it with, and was probably updated at some point in its life. Brass was Herter's that I got with the rifle. Just proves to me that these old guys knew something about building a great rifle. Barlow
