Old Sako but brand new

So I ran across a Sako M695 at the LGS. Brand new never fired was a raffle gun. Chambered in 7mm rem mag. I'm kind of looking for a rifle in that caliber. Its stamped imported by Stoeger. That makes it pe-2000 because Beretta bought Sako in dec. 1999.

Gun has a very nice wood stock. 24 inch barrel and a older brand unknown scope. They are asking $700. I know nothing about Sako. Are these decent guns? Is this a good deal? run away or see if the price gets better. Thoughts and opinions welcomed.

Well this gun is a little odd. That is action series is now a tikka. This is stamped sako. The research I've done leads me to believe the gun is from 1996 to 1999.
