Howdy ! Those M-77s are nice guns.
Load wise... H380 Iconsider a tad too fast for 22-250.
I gravitate towards higher/highes density.
For this reason, I recommend you try a little bit slower powder
like VV24N64, WW760, H414 etc.
Also, try heavier bullets, like Horandy 55gr SX,
Sierra 55 Blitz et al.
If you have barrel life left, you probably would benefit from
use of an after-market trigger; to obtain a lighter pull
I put a "single-set" Canjar on my M-77 .250-3000.
The trigger had a shoe that you would push forward, whihch then set trigger let off to aroudn 40z. Used normal fashion, the trigger ran about 4lb pull. For the money and ease of installation, you should consider this idea.
The trigger change was the single biggest improvement I made to the M-77. no bedding, no pillars. The gun responded.
Also, as regards load prep. If you don't outside neck turn your brass, you oughta start...along with all the other case prep steps you read about.
If you still have $$$, youmay want to start using a busing neck size die. Hornady's " Custom Grade New Dimension " dies are super !. You can call Lonnie Hummel in their Custom Die Dept, if youhave any questions. The neck busings are WIlson-style,and you can change these to vary neck squeeze & bullet tension. I have nto yet had a rifle that didnot respons favorably to use of bushing neck sizing, esp since it allowed me to fine-tune to the best squeez for the load/gun.
Hornady's " uni " style bullet seaters are also great tools, and cost if a bargain. Add their " Micro-just " seater top
and you're good-to-go.
Best of luck in your endeavors.
